Mix equal parts of extensive experience and a good reputation with hands-on supervision and you have the ingredients for a beautiful worry-free swimming pool.
Many years of experience building pools in your area is a crucial requirement. Do your research on the company on-line to see what pops up. Go to their website, see if they are local, learn about their history, number of years in business and view the image gallery of their work.
Be sure the company you choose is reputable by going to the Better Business Bureau site (BBB.com). Request references in close proximity to your home, then ask to view those pools and speak with the homeowners. If you are dealing with an established company, they will have many references to choose from. They should also have general liability insurance, so get a copy before awarding the job.
I recommend using a company that will be hands-on during the construction process. Ask who will be supervising the job and if you can have their cell number. A company that does the majority of work in-house is preferable because they will have more control over their workers. If they are timely and professional in responding to you during the bidding process, then they will most likely be the same during the construction phase.
